Independent financial specialists The Bartlett Group will continue their support of the Rugby League Benevolent Fund this year by backing the 2026 Ciclo Italiano as well as next month’s President’s Ball in Leeds.
Both events are established as off-field highlights of the Rugby League year, and crucial in terms of raising funds for seriously injured players and their families.
Chris Rostron, the Chief Executive of Rugby League Cares, said:
“We are thrilled that the Bartlett Group will be supporting our cyclists in Italy this summer, in addition to their title partnership with the President’s Ball in March.
“The Bartlett Group share our values and are therefore a perfect fit for these two wonderful events, which combine enjoyment and a love of Rugby League with raising money to enhance the lives of seriously injured players and their families.”
Bartlett’s support will again bring peace of mind to the special group of fundraisers who will push themselves to the limit in a five-day tour of Tuscany, as the RL Cares cycling challenge takes in Italy for the first time.
The Leeds-based insurance brokers, financial advisers and wealth management experts have provided a bespoke insurance package.
Ian Roberts, Major Account Director for Bartlett, said: “Bartlett are really pleased to maintain our longstanding support for RL Cares through the President’s Ball and our continued association with the charity’s famous annual bike ride.
“We would like to wish all the riders who are taking on the challenge of the Ciclo Italiano the very best of luck and urge Rugby League fans everywhere to sponsor a rider and help RL Cares make a difference.
“But before that, we’re very much looking forward to supporting RFL President Adam Hills MBE as the President’s Ball returns to Leeds.”
Every penny raised from the Ciclo Italiano will go to the Benevolent Fund, which also oversees the Brain Health Fund. Through this fund, RL Cares delivers brain health education programmes to current players, provides dementia support to retired professional players and their families, and supports research projects focused on improving brain health within the sport.
The riders on the Ciclo Italiano include Rugby League Hall of Fame inductees Adrian Morley and Paul Sculthorpe MBE, who will fly to Italy on June 6.
