The charity secured the high quality stock, including track tops and pants, waterproofs, T-shirts, shorts and socks, from a supplier earlier this year and then began a huge logistical operation to get it to where it was needed most.
RL Cares knows that many families in the sport’s communities are finding times tough and that the cost of kitting out players, particularly youngsters, can be a hurdle to participation.
So, throughout August, the charity’s officer set up a range of distribution centres at key locations in the north of England and beyond as part of the great RL Cares community club kit giveaway.
The response to the distribution has been fantastic and everyone at RL Cares is humbled by the kind and appreciative feedback that has been received.
Michelle from Dodworth Miners said everyone at the South Yorkshire club was “blown away” by the kit they received while one of the coaches at Lindley Swifts said: “Thank you so much for the training gear, it’s perfect for some of our kids and adults alike.”
Daniel, the head coach at Lambwath Lions under-10s, said: “a massive thank you from our club. We really appreciate your help and the extra kit has gone down very well with the teams,” and Dan at Stanley Rangers said “We can’t thank you enough.”
RL Cares would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to all the lovely people we met during the great community club kit giveaway and to wish all the players, coaches and families the very best.
