Our ride, DC2NYC in partnership with Green Central, covers 400 miles of the Greenway between the US capital, Washington DC and Central Park in the heart of New York City, and will enable participants to see America like never before.
The DC2NYC route links a diverse range of communities - from Baltimore, Wilmington and Philadelphia to Trenton and beyond. Our route takes in some of the Greenway’s most iconic segments, including the Anacostia River Trail in DC; Maryland’s B&A Trail and Torrey C Brown Trail; Delaware’s Jack A Markell Trail; the Circuit Trails network in Greater Philadelphia; New Jersey’s D&R Canal Trail; and the Hudson River Greenway in New York City.
The USA is a big country, and we’re looking forward to spending six unforgettable days in the saddle creating special memories – and raising the funds Rugby League Cares needs to continue making such an important difference to the lives of people young and old across our communities.
RL Cares would like to thank the East Coast Greenway Alliance, particularly Daniel Paschall and John Martin, for their expert guidance and advice.
Established in 1991, the Alliance has led the development of more than 1,000 miles of protected greenways and continues to advance a safe, connected corridor for walking, biking and active transportation stretching 3,000 miles from Maine to Florida.
The East Coast Greenway is designed to transform the 15 states and 450 communities it connects through active and healthy lifestyles, sustainable transportation, community engagement, climate resilience, active tourism and more.
