The Ciclo Italiano will be the first time the annual cycling challenge has landed in Italy, with a circular five-day ride from Pisa through the glorious heart of Tuscany, taking in the cities of Florence and Arezzo, and the stunning medieval hill towns of San Quirico and San Gimignano. Lee Jenkinson, the Chief Executive of Oxen Sports, said: “We’re always delighted to design cycling jerseys for the riders who will be raising money for the Benevolent Fund. “It’s a unique feature of our partnership with Rugby League, and this year there’s an Italian twist as they prepare to head for Tuscany. “We wish all the riders the very best for the challenge ahead and look forward to following their journey through Tuscany as they raise vital funds for the Benevolent Fund.” Adrian Morley, the RL Cares Player Ambassador and Well-Being Manager who will be part of the team heading for Tuscany, said: “On behalf of all the riders and the Benevolent Fund, thank you to Lee and his team at Oxen Sports for their support of the Ciclo Italiano. “They’re great partners for Rugby League Cares and the Benevolent Fund, and we really appreciate the effort they put in to providing us with what we need on and off our bikes.” All proceeds from the ride will go to the Benevolent Fund which supports seriously-injured players and their families, and now links to the Brain Health Fund which was set up two years ago.
