It's estimated that around one million people in the UK are living with dementia in the UK, and that someone develops the condition every three minutes.
Dementia causes changes in memory, thinking, personality and behaviour, but symptoms vary depending on which type the person has.
Understanding the various types of dementia means people can get the right support to help them live better with the condition.
That's why Rugby League Cares has teamed up with Dementia UK to give current and retired professional players access to expert help and advice through our monthly Brain Health Clinics.
Appointments are free, totally confidential, last for around 45 minutes and can take place by telephone, online or in person.
Dementia UK have also produced this informative leaflet which looks at dementia and its link with sport - we think everyone will find it very useful.
If you're a current or retired player - or their immediate family member/carer - and would like to access help or advice, please book an appointment at our next clinic here
Our Brain Health Clinics are made possible by the RL Cares Brain Health Fund, which was launched in late 2023 - please show your support for this important initiative by making a donation if you can. Thank you!
