Rugby League Cares has signed a three-year extension to its contract with Howorth Air Technology as the company’s official Employee Wellbeing Partner.
RL Cares will continue to work alongside Howorth Air Tech to deliver an inspirational employee wellbeing programme.
Howorth, which has its headquarters on the outskirts of Bolton, designs, manufactures and assembles ultra clean air equipment for use in operating theatres, and for the healthcare, pharma, biotechnology and life science industries. The company employs over 140 staff across its operations in the UK and the United States.
In recent years, RL Cares has delivered its acclaimed mental fitness programme, Offload and offered one-to-one wellbeing support to Howorth Air Tech staff.
The new arrangement will see RL Cares provide additional levels of support, including counselling and coaching, and work collaboratively to further develop the exciting ‘Howorth Way’, a progressive and wholesome set of values and behaviours which everyone involved with the company live and breathe every day.
RL Cares Head of Community Emma Goldsmith said: “We are looking forward to working with the brilliant team at Howorth Air Tech for the next three years and building on the excellent relationship we’ve forged together.
“The link between Howorth’s success as a business and the company’s approach to colleague wellbeing is clear and we are proud of the part we are playing in that success.
“Our Offload programme has proven occupational health benefits and we would like to thank Howorth for their continued faith in, and support for, the work we do.”
John Hale, supply Chain & OpEx Director from Howorth said: “We are excited to be extending our partnership with the amazing team at Rugby League Cares. Over the last three years we have worked together to provide support and education to our teams on all aspects of mental fitness, which is a key part of our wellbeing programme here at Howorth.
“Ensuring our team are equipped with the right knowledge and tools to be at their best in work and at home is so important to us at Howorth and we know from the positive feedback we’ve received that the Offload sessions are of real tangible benefit to the individuals taking part, their family circles and friendships.”
As well as delivering wellbeing support, RL Cares will also host Howorth staff at major rugby league events and involve them in the charity’s fundraising events programme.
In September this year, Howorth will be represented on DC2NYC, a six-day bike ride in the USA, by the company’s Technical Author and Administrator James Battersby.
James will join 18 other riders, including RL Hall of Fame legends Paul Sculthorpe MBE and Adrian Morley, to cycle 400 miles over six unforgettable days from the US capital Washington DC to Central Park in the heart of New York city.
